Petron volunteers join Team Malasakit’s tree planting activity in Antipolo

Petron volunteers joined SMC Team Malasakit’s tree planting activity in Mt. Purro Nature Reserve in Antipolo. Petron was part of around 200 volunteers from other San Miguel business units in planting a total of 2000 seedlings in the Reserve.

The reserve is known to promote responsible tourism, creating opportunities for visitors to reconnect with nature and support the local community. The participation of our volunteers promotes the restoration of Mt. Purro’s beauty and vigor, playing a part in the long-term program to rehabilitate the Upper Marikina Watershed. Mount Purro Nature Reserve has had several engagements with the SMC group, including the involvement of Mr. Albert Malvar, its founder, as a speaker for Petron’s 91st Anniversary Celebration or S.I.K.A.P. Fair.

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers from Payables and General accounting, joined by representatives from Petron Foundation, for spending a full morning hiking and planting trees, giving their time and effort towards SMC and Petron’s environmental conservation efforts.
