Petron Singapore Trading: 15 years of Making Waves

It was an evening filled with fun, celebration, and fellowship as Petron Singapore Trading Pte Ltd (PSTPL) marked its 15th anniversary on May 13 at the Clifford Pier at the Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore.

PSTPL is the trading arm of Petron Corporation. For the past 15 years, its team of traders, charterers, operators, and analysts—coming from across the region, including the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea —has been managing Petron’s crude procurement, risk management, product trading, and chartering. The company also extends its services to support Petron Malaysia.

Following its undeniable success, PSTPL gathered 300 of its most esteemed partners, industry colleagues, and clients with some even flying in from Malaysia, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland to celebrate “15 Years of Making Waves.” They were joined by the company’s directors, officers, and employees led by Petron General Manager and PSTPL Director Lubin B. Nepomuceno, SVP/CFO and PSTPL Director Emmanuel E. Eraña, and VP for Supply and PSTPL Executive Director Rowena O. Cortez.

Also present were Petron Deputy CFO and PSTPL Director Albert S. Sarte, VP and Executive Assistant to the President Jimmy O. Lu, VP for Controllers and PSTPL Director Myrna C. Geronimo, VP for Procurement Jacqueline Ang-Chai, and one of PSTPL’s founding officers, Ms. Susan Y. Yu. Petron Malaysia General Manager Mohd Nizam Mansor and Head of Supply Paul Teh Ou Yang also joined their colleagues from Manila and Singapore for the celebration.

PSTPL Operations Director Jennifer M. Sulit opened the program with a heartwarming message of gratitude. “Putting this evening together has been a new adventure for us, and we’ve had a lot of help along the way. I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who stepped in, stepped up, and supported this event behind the scenes,” she expressed.

Ms. Cortez, in turn, recognized the journey that paved the way for PSTPL’s growing achievements. “Looking around the room, I see longtime partners, industry colleagues, clients, and friends — many of whom have played a role in helping us reach this milestone. Tonight is about celebrating that shared journey.”

Mr. Nepomuceno recalled PSTPL’s humble beginnings, from starting as a small team of three to becoming a “profitable, self-sustaining business unit that strengthens the viability of Petron’s refineries, adds value to every barrel in our system, and fuels growth across the markets we serve.”

He also noted the bright future ahead of PSTPL. “Our commitment to growing PST as a trusted partner in the oil trading industry remains steadfast. We are determined to expand our presence and evolve into a larger trading house grounded by strong business partnerships and solid reputation.”

Petron’s presence in Singapore has given us the opportunity to collaborate with key market players, trading houses, and major global banks, many of whom were present that evening.

The rest of the night was spent strengthening bonds and forging new friendships, while enjoying great music, food, and drinks including San Miguel Beer and Cali.

PSTPL has truly come a long way, and with its current momentum, an even greater wave of growth and new possibilities lies ahead.
